Applications
Agriculture
GeoTerraImage provides specialist skills in the use of remote sensing technology for agricultural applications. These applications include crop area estimates, land suitability, terrain analysis and biofuel potential assessment used for agricultural management and planning. This information is generated from a wide variety of image sources including Modis, ResourceSat-AWiFS, Landsat, SPOT, RapidEye, digital aerial imagery and digital elevation models.

Applications include traditional "area" based mapping such as crop area mapping and crop type identification on a field level to determine cropped areas. Specialised modelling procedures in support of land suitability studies such as generating digital elevation models in remote areas for terrain analysis combined with land-cover classification assists clients to select the most appropriate land for new projects. Analysis to identify sustainable biofuel potential is based on selected data sets and in combination with agricultural economists.  A wide range of agricultural application projects have been completed to date, for both national and international organizations.
