New high resolution urban landuse product

GeoTerraImage is proud to launch a new high resolution urban land use dataset which includes 18 manually interpreted land use classes (i.e. cluster housing, high rise, informal housing, open space, etc).  Created by urban mapping specialists, from high resolution imagery; this data provides a strategic dataset for urban management. The data capture process is based on visual interpretation, complimented by selective in-field verification. Initially the data will be available for all metropolitan areas and will be complimented with other major towns throughout South Africa over time. Using this unique dataset, users can analyze urban land use change whilst monitoring densification and growth in areas. Historical Land Use data is also available which will allow users to conduct time series analysis of areas. The well defined capture methodology allows for cost effective updates to the datasets, hereby providing regular updates.  The land use data is available in a vector format for simple integration with other spatial datasets.
