GeoTerraImage has been awared the third position in the AHI / Old Mutual Enterprise of the Year competition for 2008 for the Small Business Category. This was announced at the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI) Congress held on the 17th September at Sun City. The competition which is organsied under the auspices of the AHI and in conjunction with Old Mutual, the main sponsor, is aimed at creating and sustaining profitable entrepreneurship, uniqueness and exceptional service in South African business.

This recognition of GTI serves as a sign that the geospatial industry has reached a level of maturity where the public at large has gained insight into the role of spatial information and earth observation technologies (i.e. satellite imagery) and how they have become part of our everyday lives. This acknowledgement is significant as it shows that the spatial industry is going from strength to strength in becoming a commodity which the public is beginning to rely on in their day-to-day lives.

We at GTI are honoured to be part of this spatial revolution and to have reached this position in the Enterprise of the Year competition and see this as an indictment that we are working in an exciting and relevant environment and are providing the required solutions.
