Level 2 BBBEE Status for GTI 2011. (2011-08-29)

GTI is pleased to announce that it has yet again achieved a Level 2 BBBEE contributor status for 2010-2011.

GTI's Growth Indicator product has expanded coverage of SA towns. (2011-07-11)

GTI has extended the Growth Indicator dataset to include the most important towns of South Africa, in addition to the major metropolitan areas already covered.  This extended data set also has a temporal component to enable the quantification of growth in these towns.  The following new towns are now included: Western CapeGeorge - Mosselbay, Paarl - Wellington, Plettenburg Bay, Knysna, Saldanha - Vredenburg, Hermanus; Mpumalanga: Witbank, Middelburg, Nelspruit, Ermelo; Free State: Welkom - Virginia - Odendaalsrus, Newcastle - Madadeni - Osizweni, Denysville - Oranjeville – Vaaldam; KwaZulu-Natal: Richards Bay - Empangeni - Eskhawini, Ladysmith - Ezakheni; North-West: Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp, Rustenburg, Mmabatho - Mafikeng; Eastern Cape: East London, Queenstown - Ezibeleni, Umtata; Northern Cape: Kimberley and Limpopo: Polokwane.

GTI assist in Inkomati Basin water resource monitoring (2011-02-17)

GTI is part of an international consortium, lead by WaterWatch (Netherlands) that will be undertaking an analysis of planning and water resource allocation for the Incomati Basin in South African, Swaziland and Mozambique. The project is funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the EU.

Land-cover Mapping in Botswana (2011-02-01)

GTI has been appointed by Botswana's Department of Surveys and Mapping (DSM) to create a digital land-cover database of Ngamiland District (NW Botswana). This follows on from the successful completion of the previous Chobe District land-cover mapping completed by GTI for DSM in 2010.
